Arrested Development

I don’t watch TV, so in the rare event something worthwhile is on, it takes word of mouth to reach me before I can experience it. This happened with Penn & Teller’s Bullshit, Stella, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Kenny vs Spenny, and…well yeah. I’m sure there are more worthwhile shows on TV, I just can’t think of any off-hand. However, due to (undeserved) low ratings, there IS no word of mouth concerning Arrested Development. Really though, what can you expect from Fox viewers? It took a long time for somebody that has actually heard of it to recommend it to me (the show’s 3rd season starts in a month). And what better way to support television’s most brilliant underrated comedy than to download both seasons? *cough*

So I just finished watching all 40 episodes of the show. Yeah…in one sitting. Sure, that’s about 14 and a half hours of sitting around, but it was worth it. Absolutely everything about the show is spot-on: the writing, the acting, the cast, the direction, the writing, the acting, the direction, and even the cast. And while the acting and cast are easily my favorite aspect of the show, the writing is easily my favorite aspect.

It’s truly the best show on TV that nobody watches™. I’m sure I sounded like a complete dumbass sheltered in my room laughing by myself for over 14 hours solid, but what can you do? Well there IS something you can do: Grab a copy of the first season on DVD. In fact, I’m a little low on cash right now, so if you could grab a copy to cover me too, that’d be great. Oh, and when season 2 comes out, grab two copies of that, because I also downloaded that. Pay you back as soon as I can; school starts in a week or so, so I can get back to selling pirate software to college kids.*

*Hey, I’m not sure if I need to clarify that I really don’t sell pirate software to college kids?**

**I gladly give all my goods away for free***

***Unless sexual favors count as “paying”? I dunno, the legality of all this is a little fuzzy to me.

EDIT: The next day - There, problem solved. I picked up season 1 on DVD today, along with Garden State. Those two purchases alone clear up over 5gbs of space on my computer.
