Troutmouth MP3s

All, Music February 23rd, 2006

We got to test-drive the recording setup today and it’s working out incredible for us. Unfortunately, WE were way off all night. I could make up all sorts of excuses like how cold it is in February in Wyoming, yadda yadda, or you could just check out some of the MP3 clips I promised and be nice. We fucked up all over the place tonight. Deal with it.

Clinton - This song is one of the few leftovers from an older band our guitar player and drummer were in, Bill Jonson and the Magic Wilsons. It is one of two jangly country songs that we play. This song is extremely simple, but I think what Adam comes up with every time we play it really adds to it. I think it’s a pretty well-rounded, catchy little ditty now.

Marshmallow Kisses - This song started its life as an outtro to a song that I’m pretty sure we dumped at some point. Other than that, I have no idea how this throwaway gag of a song made it into our regular playlist, but I love it. This one is an audience confuser. Trivia: A marshmallow kiss is when both participants puff their cheeks up and rub faces. Yeah, we made it up.

A Smoov Reggae Dub - This little tune hasn’t evolved into a full song yet. Normally we break into this after we’ve run through our set and are bored. It has never been played the same way twice, and the song normally ends when 2 or more of us get sick of playing the same thing over and over. It is not unusual for this goddamn song to go on for 10 minutes or more. This is a little clip. Sorry I was too lazy to fade it in and out. This half-song also has no name.
