Some New Troutmouth Crap

All, Music May 20th, 2006

Well our band still has a home, as we’ve managed to cram both bands, 5-piece Death to the King and 4-piece Troutmouth, into one tiny room. The setup isn’t pretty, but it has to work until we can find somewhere else to practice. Rearranging the practice room to accomodate both bands allowed us to reconfigure our recording setup, and I think we’re getting much better results now. With a little more tweaking, recordings of our practices should be sounding pretty good.

Since I haven’t posted much recently, I’ll throw up a couple quick clips from our practice on May 6th. I am also testing a new plugin that allows me to embed MP3 files as a fancy-schmancy little flash MP3 player directly in my post. We’ll see how well it works…

The first track is sort of a ‘behind-the-scenes’ type track, as it’s a little clip of us working on and figuring out a new song that Adam wrote.

This track is an excerpt from one of our newer songs, which sounds pretty decent except we still had the vocals turned WAY down. We were also experimenting with some new ideas in this part of the song, so there’s some new things going on here.

Adam is also finally working on writing actual parts, rather than improvising his parts every practice. We should be able to get cleaner, more complete clips up in the near future.
