Did Everybody Forget Satan Lost 50 Points?

All, Religion/Politics June 10th, 2006

Guys, it’s been over a year since the “real” number of the beast, 616, was discovered.

“616 (Six hundred sixteen in American English, Six hundred and sixteen elsewhere) was the original Number of the Beast in Christian mythology, in the Book of Revelation, but was most likely mistranslated. Different early versions of the Book of Revelation gave different numbers, and 666 had previously been widely accepted as the oldest and original number. In 2005, however, an early fragment of papyrus was revealed showing that the Number of the Beast was originally 616. 666 remains the most widely recognized number, however.”

Most recognized? What difference does that make? We fucked it up! It has NO relevance, even in the context of your mythology. Pretty bad when you can’t even get your goddamn fiction right.

Anyway, next time you hear some christian fundamentalist idiot spouting any of those stupid conspiracy theories (like numbers on the roulette wheel adding up to 666, or that barcode one…forget how it works*), please feel free to punch them in the throat.

*Yes, there are people that believe Satan gave us gambling and bar codes. I love religious folk.

speaking of religious folks, i’m currently reading under the banner of heaven
it’s about mormons, geez, how can ANYONE think Smith was a prophet? of course, can take that one step farther and ask how can anyone believe that anyone is a prophet

  2. mom Says:

actually, under the banner is about 2 brothers who kill another brother’s wife and 18 month old daughter because god commanded them to do it
    god isn’t very nice

But who are you to question himâ„¢?

Haha, I remember finding this out on NPR awhile ago. I’ve been trying to spread the word ever since.

Bill, rest assured I told a few people they were idiots leading up to, and on, June 6th. My problem was that I couldn’t recall WHAT the “true” number of the beast was so I just told them it wasn’t 666 and when they asked what it was I usually had some witty quip like, “Fuck if I know.” I really put a lot of thought into it.

Regardless, I remember reading about it awhile back, likely due to you linking me to it, and I’ve done a little bit in making people feel foolish for going crazy about 666.

Speaking of barcodes… I remember a big religious outcry against the microchip that you could have VOLUNTARILY put in your wrist with your medical information on it. The Christians thought that this would be the first step of the Illuminati tagging people that want to live with the “barcoded microchip of the beast”. Keep in mind that the entire process requires a person to request this procedure and that religious affiliation is usually not referenced in most modern western medicine, except for the guy on coast to coast claiming that daily worship combined with healthy doses of silver increases longevity.

  7. mom Says:

if the illuminati are involved, it’s probably true
of course, they’re involved in every conspiracy and anything even remotely sinister
