Your 30 Seconds of Timekiller For The Day

All, Music June 18th, 2006

My drummer friend Ryan likes playing while I play bass, and I had a bunch of our fucking around ‘recorded’. I say ‘recorded’ because I don’t think anything was miced, it was just bleeding through the 8 million mics we have in the practice room, but you can basically tell what we’re doing. Anyway, it’s about 40 minutes of Weezer and Nirvana covers (yeah, just drums and bass), and while it’s entertaining to me, nothing was really worth putting up.

Well, EXCEPT for this 20 second clip of us TRYING to cover Primus’ DMV. Ryan has the drum part down pretty good, but I was just exposed to the wonderful world of tapping on bass like two weeks ago, so ODDLY ENOUGH, I can’t tap as good as Les Claypool, OKAY? DEAL WITH IT. Jesus.

I’m also pretty sure he plays it on a 5 string, since the low note almost HAS to be on a B string. I can kinda make it work on four strings…

Oh, while I’m at it, here’s a neat clip of a new song Troutmouth is working on.

Dude you guys are almost ready to open for xTroutmouthx, the straightedge death metal band from Paraguay and Tunisia. The only problem is they’re dead.

If we played Violent Femmes, I’d shoot myself in the face, not because they are bad, mostly because we’ve become “that band” ugh.
