New DS Lite Owner

All, Video Games September 15th, 2006

Between Amanda and…well, Amanda, I haven’t had much time for video games lately, but I caved yesterday and finally picked myself up a DS Lite (in black), since Nintendo knows that I will purchase the same system several times if they ask nice enough. The system feels a million times better, though I think the shoulder buttons are harder to hit now, but the screens are the best I’ve ever seen. I’m also a fan of the larger stylus. The clean new iPod-style look really makes the classic DS seem dated, though it’s not even two years old. Pretty sure my original DS is going back in the box and getting shelved.

I also picked up Mario Tennis: Power Tour on clearance, but haven’t gotten around to it, since I’m pretty heavy into LoZ: The Minish Cap (also on clearance). The fact that I’ve been playing more GBA than DS games on my DS lately ALMOST convinced me to pick up a Gameboy Micro as well, but I really have to draw the line somewhere.

God dammit… the black one is out now? It was really easy for my to hold off on the white one, but I LOVE black electronics. Regardless, I really just don’t have the money to spend right now. Maybe by the time Pokemon Diamond/Pearl come out I won’t be able to hold off any longer, but that’s a LOOOONG ways away.

Cool. I replaced my DS with a black Lite today, too. I was going to order a navy one from Japan but I decided to wait for Nintendo to release more colours here. I really like it but it gets all finger-printy really easily. Good choice of games, I have both of those. Power Tennis’ single player is a little weak, but its mini games and multiplayer makes up for it. The Minish Cap is also really fun, but I seem to remember it being a little short. Both good games, though.

You post about the DS lite but no post about the Nov. 19 Wii release date? You disappoint Bill.
