It’s Over
Well, Amanda and I broke up yesterday. The shitty thing about the whole situation is that both of us knew from the get-go that ultimately, nothing could ever come of our relationship, that we would end up breaking each other’s hearts and well…here we are. Whee. Opposites may attract, but they definitely do not build a long-term relationship.
It sucks because I’ve never had to break up with somebody on “good terms”. We had been discussing the feasibility of a breakup off and on for a couple weeks now, but could never actually go through with it. For a couple of polar opposites, we are ridiculously dependent on each other. Already on thin ice, it was an argument that finally sealed the deal yesterday.
It’s really hard to come to terms with the fact that even though you’re crazy about each other, you just can’t be together. It’s so much easier when you’ve been wronged and the ex becomes “the enemy”, but Amanda never did anything wrong; she’s an amazing girl — we’re just inherently incompatible. For example, she’s a Christian and I’m an asshole, she’s extremely attractive and I’m a computer nerd, she’s very outgoing and personable and I hate everything and everyone…the list goes on. Oh, and she doesn’t like Bill Murray. Who the FUCK doesn’t like Bill Murray?!
Anyway, the last eight months were a lot of fun and I already miss her too much.

Damn dude sorry to hear about the breakup. By the way not liking Bill Murray would probably be a big deal breaker in my book too but what the fuck do I know I’ve never even had a serious relationship. And you never shoot the hostage.
