Found One!!
It has been nearly 3 full months since I originally ordered my Nikkor 10.5mm fisheye from Adorama, and it still sits on backorder. During this time, I was checking 3 or 4 other major camera retailers online EVERY DAY to see if anybody was getting any in stock, but to no avail. I was also on an “in-stock notification” list at 2 other retailers, but received no phone calls. You really have no idea how hard it is to get one of these goddamn lenses.
Finally on Friday, I was doing my daily stock checkup and ePhotoCraft.com claimed to have one ready to ship. In total disbelief, I checked the specs to make sure it was new in box and not gray market…it checked out! I quickly signed up for an account and placed my order. Immediately, the status of the lens changed from “In Stock, Ready to Ship” to “Out of Stock - Notify When This Item Becomes Available”. I couldn’t believe it! They had ONE lens in, and I got it! Of course, it would have to be Memorial Day weekend, so I had to wait til Tuesday for the verdict: Successfully charged and ready to ship!
The best part? I paid $607 — only $10 more than I would have at Adorama, but only because they charged twice as much for shipping. If I REALLY wanted to, I could resell the thing on eBay for about $200 profit, but I’ve waited for this thing for entirely too long. Should be here by the end of the week. Well, BETTER be, for $20 shipping on a 10oz. package…

You don’t know what this lens means to me.
