Managed to sleep today for a healthy period of time, but woke with a horrible headache that was actually bothering me more than my tail bone. The pain is definitely there, but as long as I don’t move and I keep myself occupied, it’s dull and can be ignored. Since using my laptop is awkward (this type of injury deprives you of a lap), my iPod and DS have been my best friends. My best friends that are actual people have apparently dropped off the face of the earth.
The new Bad Religion, New Maps of Hell, has been in steady rotation, and though I originally thought “more of the same”, its character is beginning to grow on me a little. There are no tracks I skip on it, at least. I also listened to several full chapters of Richard Dawkins’ The God Delusion, which I grabbed in audiobook format for the trip. I’ve never downloaded an audiobook before, and they’re kinda relaxing. Still, I keep forgetting how cheap books are on Amazon, and will probably pick this up in hardcover (as I’ve been meaning to) — but not for the non-Amazon price. I then watched all of the third season of Curb Your Enthusiasm for the zillionth time, which killed another 5 hours or so.
Realizing I was consuming media very fast, I set out to accomplish a goal on my DS, which ended up being to collect all the star coins in New Super Mario Bros. You know what you get for taking the time to do this (hours upon hours)? A STAR next to your name. Don’t bother. Disappointed with my achievement, I noticed the game has a theoretical maximum score of 9,999,999,999, and I decided to see if the score would just stop counting or wrap around to zero. As exciting as that sounds, I gave up well before the first billion.
I then wrote a pointless blog about what I do when I have nothing to do. Who knows what tomorrow holds in store for me!!
