Thrash, Thrash, Thrash, Repeat
Was listening to Troutmouth practices and found a decent recording of “the thrash song”, Manufactured Inspirado on the Majestic Wings of Freedom, and decided to share.
The story:
During our early practices when we were still putting together a set, we were trying to write one song a night. We hadn’t come up with anything on one night in particular and Shawn, our guitarist, pointed at me and said “Bill. Riff.”
“Oh c’mon, man. You can’t manufacture inspirado,” I replied, yet in the next 45 seconds, we proved ourselves wrong as one of the most bitchin’, dumbest songs ever poured from our instruments. Using a lone E, and then every step between G and C#, we manufactured some inspirado. Shortly afterwards, we passed around a notebook and wrote completely random lyrics. The result is one of my favorite Troutmouth songs.

Shawn may have them. I sure as hell don’t. I can pick out “freedom can’t punch through a brown paper bag” and “man-yoo-fak-chird ins! PIRADO!”

You must reach for the stars
Take a rocket ship to mars
Freedom can’t punch through a brown paper bag
You must reach for the stars
Take a rocket ship to mars
Freedom can’t punch through a brown paper bag
Daredevils, Bald Eagles, Squishy beach balls…
Manufactured Inspirado!
