Shinfo: New Favorite Beer
Though unlikely, if you can get your hands on Almaza, do so. It’s a pilsener, a bit like Heineken*, from Lebanon that I can ONLY find at this Lebanese restaurant downtown. It’s the best goddamn beer I’ve ever had, and if I have to take out a loan to start a distribution company so I can import it myself, I will. Hopefully it won’t come to that.
If you DO happen to find Almaza, be sure to follow the drinking advice from their site:
To well fill up a glass with Almaza beer, rinse thoroughly your glass with water and without wiping it. Let your glass drain. Never leave on the beer glasses traces of soap or detergent products, because foam would disappears quickly. The biggest enemy of foam is grease. It is necessary to avoid seizing empty glasses from the inside.
